The formation, shape and hardness of dental calculus vary greatly from person to person. In general, newly formed tartar need twelve to fifteen hours. Rapidly formed calculus are softer   than the slowly formed calculus. All newly formed dental calculus is soft, which is easy to be removed. However, after a period of calcification, it will slowly harden and be difficult to clean. Therefore, dental calculus is easy to be removed when it firstly starts to form. It is necessary to form a good habit of brushing teeth every day and using interdental brush.  

    For oral, tartar is a different object which will continue to stimulate the periodontal tissue, and oppress the gums, affecting blood circulation, causing bacteria periodontal tissue infection, causing inflammation of the gums shrink, forming a periodontal pocket. When the periodontal pocket come into being, it will account for the accumulation of food debris, plaque, tartar etc. This new kind of accumulation will lead to further destruction of deeper periodontal ligament, and finally destroying all the teeth supporting tissues, causing tooth extraction.
